やっぱりフィギュアスケートが好き　I really do love figure skating after all

ミラノ・コルティナオリンピックが終わった。

元々スポーツにはあまり興味がなかったけどトリノ五輪で荒川静香さんを見てからフィギュアスケートが好きになった。

スポーツだけど芸術的側面も持つ。実力ももちろん大事だけどどの曲を選ぶか、衣装をどうするかも大きな要因になる。

ジャンプの持ち点が高くても出来栄え点が入ることで順位も上下する。

だから単に難しい技をこなすだけでなく表現力も求められる。

今回も日本人が沢山メダル取りました👏

昔はなかったけど、数年前からできた団体戦。できた当初は選手の負担にならないのか？と思っていたけどこれもまた今回素晴らしかった！

普段は個人プレーだけどチームJAPANの愉快な雰囲気と緊張しながらも大会を楽しんでいる姿が印象的だった。

やっぱり誰かと協力して目標に立ち向かっている姿ってグッときますね。

日本人だけでなく、他国の選手とも称賛しあっている姿はまさに「スポーツの祭典」で、全然フィールドは違うけど私も明日からまた頑張ろう！という気持ちになりました。

今回の大会で引退する選手もいるだろうけど、ぜひアイスショーとかに出て欲しいな〜（ぜひ日本で！！）

メダルを獲得した選手の皆さん、本当に本当におめでとうございます！！

The Milano Cortina Olympics have come to an end. I was never that interested in sports to begin with, but after watching Shizuka Arakawa at the Torino Olympics, I fell in love with figure skating.

It’s a sport, but it also has an artistic side. Of course skill is important, but the choice of music and the design of the costume are also major factors. Even if a skater has a high base value for their jumps, the final ranking can rise or fall depending on the grade of execution. That’s why it’s not enough to simply perform difficult techniques—expressiveness is also required.

This time, too, many Japanese athletes won medals 👏
The team event, which didn’t exist in the past but was introduced a few years ago, was also wonderful this time. When it was first created, I wondered whether it would place too much of a burden on the athletes, but it turned out to be amazing again!

Although figure skating is usually an individual sport, I was struck by Team Japan’s cheerful atmosphere and the way they enjoyed the competition even while feeling the pressure. There’s something truly moving about seeing people work together toward a shared goal.

Not only the Japanese athletes, but also the way skaters from other countries praised one another—it was truly a “festival of sport.” Even though my own field is completely different, watching them made me feel like I want to do my best again starting tomorrow.

Some athletes will probably retire after this competition, but I really hope they’ll appear in ice shows—especially in Japan!

To all the medalists, congratulations from the bottom of my heart!!
